The card front features the legendary Geof Darrow’s original “Kill With A Borrowed Sword” black and white artwork, while the back reveals Hi-Fi Design’s striking final colors.

Geof Darrow is an American comic book artist, best known for his work on comic series Shaolin CowboyHard Boiled and The Big Guy and Rusty the Boy Robot, which was adapted into an animated television series of the same name, as well as his contributions to The Matrix series of films.

Over the course of his illustrious career, Darrow has contributed storyboards and conceptual designs for several film productions. Outside of comics and film, Darrow has contributed artwork to a number of trading card series, including Magic: The GatheringStar Wars GalaxyWitchbladeThe Shadow and Madman, as well as promotional posters, covers and role-playing games.

Joe Jusko is undoubtedly one of the best-known Fantasy, Pin-Up and Comic Artists in the world today. His career has spanned over 45 years, starting with the sale of his very first cover for Heavy Metal Magazine in 1977 at the age of 17. Since graduating that year from NYC’s High School of Art & Design, Joe has worked for almost every major comic book publisher, producing hundreds of images for both covers and interiors. REMEMBERING JOHN ROMITA

The great and beloved John Romita (January 24, 1930-June 12, 2023) passed away Monday and our hearts break for the Romita family. If ever there was a gentle, giant, it was John Romita. Not only did this good man change the face of comics, but he also changed our lives and taught us with wonder, what a true hero was. Godspeed sir and thank you. You will be forever loved and missed. I’ve been in contact with his son, John Jr. and they are looking into charity options so fans can show their love with a small donation.

Happy 30th Anniversary Shi!

June 12th marks Ana Ishikawa, AKA, Shi’s Birthday. Even though in today’s comics Ana is 45 years old, “legally” she’s all but 30. It was on June 13, 1993, that Tucci received notification that Shi and its accompanying storyline was officially copyrighted and trademarked by US Copyright and Trademark Registration Office. Crusade Comics will be planning several special 30th Anniversary Specials for next month’s Comic Con International in San Diego and October’s New York Comic Con.

Inkpot Award recipient Billy Tucci is an American cartoonist best known for his modern-day samurai saga Shi, which began with The Way of the Warrior in 1994. Through his company, Crusade Fine Arts, Shi has been printed in five languages and sold more than 3 million comic books. In addition to his own creations, the graduate of New York’s Fashion Institute of Technology has earned the prestigious Diamond Comics Gem Award and has been nominated for four Eisner Awards. Billy’s DC Comics’ graphic novel, Sgt. Rock: The Lost Battalion, was awarded the Military Writers Society of America Gold Medal for its depiction of the highly decorated, real-life 442nd Regimental Combat Team, which was comprised of Japanese American heroes. The groundbreaking 1995 series was written by Blue Devil and Amethyst creator Gary Cohn and illustrated by such greats as Jim Lee, Amanda Conner, Joe Quesada, George Perez, Billy Tucci, Frank Frazetta, Adam Hughes and many more.

First 24-Hours Returns Has Campaign Trending Towards Crowdfunding Record!  

$50K STRETCH GOAL ANNOUNCED – OMNIBUS WILL BE OVERSIZED!

Comic fans from around the world have propelled Crusade Comics’ new Shi: Senryaku Omnibus Indiegogo towards $50,000.00 in the campaign’s opening 24-hours. According to survey and data management platform, BackerKit, the 240-page hardcover edition is trending towards $240,000.00 in returns once its 29-day campaign duration closes on July 3rd.

When the Indiegogo campaign hits $50,000.00, the 240-page Shi: Senryaku Omnibus Edition will be drastically enlarged from its traditional 6.58” X 10.25” comic book dimensions to the oversized 7.75” X 11.25”. The upgrade is the same sizing as Marvel and DC Comics Premium Omnibus’ and make Senryaku a perfect companion to the similarly oversized Shi: Omnibus Vol. 1.
