Billy Tucci’s 2001 poignant illustration, now issued as a special 25th Anniversary Memorial Print benefiting the American Legion, captures the weight and the will of September 11 with unflinching honesty. A lone FDNY firefighter stands amid twisted stee, his weathered face set in grim resolve as a tattered American flag defiantly still flies. 

A.W. “Smokey” Linn’s Fireman’s Prayer is lettered in full—an appeal for strength to save lives of every age, for alertness in the smoke, and for God’s protection of family should the firefighter himself fall. 

Tucci’s art is somber in its wreckage and its weary hero, yet powerful in the unbowed stance, the surviving flag, and the prayer’s quiet vow to forever answer the call. 

Twenty-five years later the print remains both memorial and statement: the victims are remembered, the heroes’ duty endures, and honors that same spirit of service through our veterans and current warfighters.

Each print measures 11” X 17” and ships flat in polymer protective sleeve and heavy cardboard envelope. Portions of all proceeds will be donated to the local American Legion.

We will also format the Shi: Senryaku 30th Anniversary Facsimile Edition next week and get that to our production designer to remaster and ready for press.

We’ll also spend the next weeks packing all merchandise and original artwork to send out and go to press on all Sketch Covers, Lenticular Covers, Blind Bags, and Metal Editions… all the while I’ll be hard at work drawing covers and title pages!

First off, thank you for supporting Ran: Revenge of the Warrior #1. Everyone on #TeamRan has been working extremely hard finishing up this wonderful project and it will be heading off to the printer this month. As of now, we still have about 100 backers for this project who have yet to approve their shipping charge and confirm your shipping address. Please do so, it is easy! Being that Ran Indiegogo is now in Pledge Manager mode, all new backers will automatically check out with shipping and address confirmation. Kickstarter backers need not worry about this stage as you are all set!

HOW TO USE INDIEGOGO’S PLEDGE MANAGER TOOL

Now it is time for all our backers to confirm their orders, addresses and approve shipping costs.  Deborah and I realize the new Indiegogo platform has been a bit of challenge with one of the new additions being the need to accept the shipping charges and verify your shipping address during the “pledge manager” phase.

IGG has sent out emails, and as I stated, there are still about 150 backers that have not accepted the shipping charges and verified their addresses. You have already paid for your pledges so PLEASE take a moment and check your emails from IGG.

The title of the email (Sent on April 22, 2026) should be: “Pledge manager for RAN: REVENGE OF THE WARRIOR is open”.

Open the email and click “COMPLETE YOUR PLEDGE”. From there, I believe it’s “ADD TO YOUR ORDER” (or something like that). From there you should see your address as listed and what the shipping charges will be. I have kept shipping the same for this campaign even though the rates have gone up, so there will be no surprises for anyone that has backed us before.

Of course, you can also just go to the Indiegogo link above and also do it without the email.

OVERSEAS VAT CHARGES!

I have heard from a few of our overseas backers that they have seen VAT charges where there shouldn’t be for their country, or that they were higher than they should be. I contacted IGG about this and they assured me that those have all been adjusted.

We are all getting used to it and Deborah’s been in contact with our wonderful IGG representative which resulted in a far more streamlined and dare I say “retro” backing process that harks back to Indiegogo’s simpler and efficient methods which will be enacted for our next IGG, SHI OMINBUS VOL. 2: THE CROSSOVERS! Launching next month.
